Next Chapter Book Club

  • Jesup Memorial Library 34 Mt. Desert Street Bar Harbor, Maine 04609 (map)

At the Next Chapter Book Club (NCBC), adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities read and learn, make friends, and enjoy a fun community gathering place. If you are interested in joining the NCBC, please contact Eloise at eschultz@jesuplibrary.org, by calling 207-288-4245 or by inquiring at the circulation desk.

How does it work?

Members meet weekly for one hour to read and discuss a book of their choosing.

Who can attend?

Anyone can participate, no matter their reading level or ability. Caregivers and communication partners are also welcome to attend.

Who leads the book club?

Trained volunteers facilitate each meeting. They can include students, parents, retirees, people with disabilities, and various community members.

How can I join?

We meet every Thursday from 2:00 - 3:00pm in the library’s Poteet Gallery, which is on the lower level. Feel free to show up to a meeting!
