Want to learn more about the recommendations for school district reorganization and unification? Do you have strong opinions about the schools in our community? Join representatives from our community school district and a distinguished panel for a learning session and community conversation about the November 3 vote to transition our school district (AOS 91) to a Regional School Unit (RSU). As we face demographic changes and modern-day challenges in meeting the needs of the students and families in our community, should we unify into one Regional School Unit, or remain an Alternative Organizational Structure? This is the fundamental question that will guide a conversation among a diverse group of panelists and attendees. School Superintendent Mike Zboray will present a 10-minute background presentation, and four panelists will discuss their various perspectives on the question and issues facing our district. This format is based on the model of a civil dialogue, where the goals include thoughtful listening, seeking diverse viewpoints, learning new perspectives, and being an informed citizen. This format is a provenly valuable tool for civic engagement and informed decision-making. The intended outcome is for community members to have a clear understanding of the issue.
This event will take place in person only. Childcare with pizza will be provided. If you would like to utilize the onsite childcare, please fill out this additional form.
